I began creative writing when I was 10 years old in Elementary School.  The first work I did was a short story about a young girl who was bullied and criticized by everyone around her for her dreams she wanted for her life, but she stood strong and proud against the odds and pursued her dreams anyway despite everyone making fun of her for it.  My 6^th grade teacher wanted to enter my story into a creative writing contest although I was not able to compete in that competition it did not stop me from pursuing more writing.

By the time I was in Junior High I began writing more poetry and building up my writing creativity learning different styles and expressive writing.  At 12 years old I entered one of my poems into a writing competition which I became one of the selected few that was published.  It was a personal achievement that I kept to myself, even hiding the acknowledgement letter from my relatives and friends I had received informing me of my publication.  I continued writing poetry and was anxious to learn more so then in High School I took up Journalism as well as becoming Sports Editor of our High School newspaper and working on the Yearbook Staff.

After taking decades of hiatus from my writing I have now returned with my latest project that is currently underway and my first book I will be publishing and releasing titled “Beyond Closed Doors.”
